Meet the friendly staff at Young's Animal Hospital, PLLC!

Melissa Arnold
Dr. Melissa Arnold graduated from Ross University in St. Kitts, West Indies in 2010. Upon graduation she spent a little over a year in Midland, Texas, at a clinic that dealt in both large and small animals as well as exotics. She began with Young’s Animal Hospital in 2012 and brings with her compassionate care and the added facet of exotic care. Dr. Arnold was among the first veterinarians in our state to be certified in testing for Chronic Wasting Disease and performing rectal biopsies in Whitetail Deer.

Dr. Arnold has a very familiar companion, Hamlet, who is well-known by our patients. Hamlet is a former racing greyhound that Dr. Arnold adopted while spending her clinical year at Auburn University. You’ll find Hamlet camped out on his bed behind the reception desk. Hamlet and Dr. Arnold make appearances at schools and nursing homes, spreading the word about Veterinary Care for pets and livestock.

Dr. Arnold was raised in McKinney, Texas, and is the daughter of Keith and Mary Arnold. She channeled her energy into playing soccer for both clubs and high school. She then went on to play for Texas A&M Commerce while obtaining her undergraduate degree in Animal Science. Her accolades included All-Conference and All-Region Honors. While attending Ross University, Dr. Arnold was named to The President’s List on several occasions.
